Hi, I’m Emma
My mission is to support women and their partners through pregnancy and the postpartum period with compassionate, holistic care that nurtures their emotional wellbeing and strengthens their confidence as parents. Drawing on over a decade of experience as a perinatal counsellor, I provide a calm, grounding presence and evidence-informed guidance that honours each individual’s unique journey. My aim is to create a safe, steady space where mothers and their partners feel heard, held, and empowered to trust themselves. Through a blend of emotional support, practical postpartum care, and a deep commitment to mental health, my mission is to help you navigate this time of profound change with clarity, resilience, and a sense of inner strength.
My work begins before birth. I offer gentle pre-birth preparation sessions where we focus on emotional readiness, realistic expectations of the postpartum period, relationship changes, nervous system awareness, and practical planning. I really believe that how we prepare shapes how supported we feel afterwards.
After baby arrives, I provide calm, steady, in-home support during those early weeks. That might look like holding space while a mother processes her birth story, supporting feeding in a non-judgemental way, caring for baby so parents can rest, or helping establish rhythms that feel sustainable rather than stressful.
I’m particularly passionate about nervous system–aware care. Early parenthood can be incredibly dysregulating, and families don’t just need advice, they need someone regulated in the room. Someone who brings steadiness, reassurance and perspective.
My work is trauma-informed, evidence-based and deeply compassionate. I care about protecting the mental health of parents just as much as I care about the wellbeing of babies. My hope is that by the time I step away, families feel more confident, more resourced, and less alone in one of life’s biggest transitions.
I’m a qualified doula through the Australian Doula Academy and have worked as a perinatal counsellor for over 10 years, both in not-for-profit (Perinatal Wellbeing Centre formerly PANDSI) and in the private sector (Wonderbump Psychology). I am a qualified Circle of Security facilitator and a certified facilitator of the Gottman Institute’s Bringing Baby Home couples’ program. I am also a certified Motherhood Studies Practitioner. And finally, but perhaps most important of all, I am a mum of two incredible girls, and my own journey into motherhood has shaped the way I show up - with empathy, honesty, and a deep respect for how transformative this time can be.
As both a counsellor and doula, I maintain current Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance through IICT. This ensures that the support I provide is delivered within a professional, ethical, and fully insured framework, giving families confidence and peace of mind throughout our work together.
My Approach
My approach is gentle, relational, and grounded in both professional experience and lived understanding. I believe every parent deserves to feel supported, heard, and informed as they move through pregnancy and early parenthood. I offer a calm, non-judgemental space where you can explore your needs, build confidence, and feel more prepared for the transition ahead.
