Hello, I’m Emma.

I’m a mum to two beautiful girls, a certified birth and postpartum doula, and a Motherhood Studies Practitioner. I’m also someone who has spent the better part of a decade supporting women and families through the emotional ups and downs of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.

Motherhood has a way of changing you. It can be beautiful, confronting, overwhelming and deeply transformative, sometimes all in the same day. It asks so much of us, often while we’re still figuring out who we are becoming ourselves. I’m passionate about creating space for mothers to feel seen, supported and cared for as they navigate this transition, without the pressure to have it all figured out.

My background in perinatal counselling has given me a deep appreciation for the emotional landscape of becoming a parent, and my training as a doula has allowed me to bring that understanding into the home in a more practical, hands-on way. I love being able to offer both emotional support and the little things that can make such a difference in those early days: a listening ear, a moment to rest, a bit of help around the house, or simply someone who understands that this season can be harder than you expected.

Through my own experience of motherhood, and through the many families I’ve supported, I’ve come to believe that mothers need nurturing just as much as their babies do. We talk a lot about preparing for birth, but much less about preparing for the enormous transition that follows. I want to help change that, by making sure mothers feel supported not only in caring for their babies, but in caring for themselves, too.

Through EMpowered Mothering, I offer personalised pregnancy and postpartum support that meets you where you are. Whether you’re preparing to welcome your first baby, finding your feet with a new addition to the family, navigating a difficult birth experience, or discovering that motherhood looks different from what you imagined, I’m here to walk alongside you. There’s no one right way to become a mother, and no one-size-fits-all approach to the support you might need.

Alongside my doula work, I continue to work as a perinatal counsellor at Wonderbump Psychology & Counselling, supporting parents with their emotional wellbeing and relationships through the transition to parenthood. My work is grounded in compassion, curiosity and a belief that when parents feel supported, they have more space to connect with themselves, their babies and each other.

More than anything, I want mothers to know that they don’t have to do it all alone. You deserve to be held, heard and cared for, too.

I’m so glad you’re here.
